Harold Arthur Leftwich was a licensed attorney and had been involved in public accounting for over 40 years. Harold was born in Chicago, Illinois, where he resided most of his life. Upon his return from military service, he earned his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University, and was a member of the Illinois State Bar for over 60 years.
Harold joined Horwich Coleman Levin, LLC in December 2007. Prior to joining HCL, Harold had been a Partner at Benjamin & Birkenstein, PC, a Principal with Hochfelder, Birkenstein, Benjamin & Weber, Ltd. and the Founder and Managing Principal of H. Leftwich & Associates.
He was known for his limitless kindness, loyalty, philanthropy, and wonderful sense of humor. He served in the Navy on the USS Midway during WWII, and was always ready to share that experience, of which he was very proud. He also served as a Trustee for Friends of the Parks in Chicago, and had a deep passion for sports, history, politics, religion, travel, music, theatre, and the City of Chicago.
Harold A. Leftwich will be missed by all of us at HCL, but we, his clients and friends are happy that we had the extreme pleasure of knowing, and being professionally associated with, one of Chicago’s finest.
